On Sunday 2nd June the last Junior Intercounty fixture for the weekend took place at the Pickaquoy Centre.. The Orkney netballers played with pure determination to make sure they came out triumph over the Shetland netball squad. It was a slow start to the game but the Orkney lasses soon started to settle and took the lead. There was no stopping the squad and even with Shetland trying to counter act by bringing on fresh legs and putting immense pressure on the home team, Orkney continued to dominate. Showing the crowd their slick moves and passing up the court, there was no stopping the Orkney netballers. A tremendous performance by all of the Orkney team to come out with a well deserved win. Final Score was 45 - 35 to Orkney. Well done to all the netballers for your dedication and hard work on the build up to JIC and a big thank you to all the coaches and helpers for putting in your time to coach these lasses to perform at such a high level.
